SUTTON SURVEYORS Orange 8 Hour Recap

Over a week has passed since we signed off season 2019 at one of our favourites, Orange Kart Club.

When planning our calendar, we do our best to plan around the weather and avoid the colder destinations during winter. When we locked in Orange for our final round in November, you would think it’s safe to assume we’d be greeted by warm weather…. Never have we been so wrong. Scorching high temperatures of 13-14° on Friday and Saturday and a low of -2° on Saturday morning were the reality we faced. Ice like winds and even some rain on Friday afternoon made for far from comfortable spectating.

Maverick make it Two to start 2019

T’was the day before Canberra, and all through the track not a go kart was stirring, not even a junior. The tyres were stacked in the pits with care…… Whoa, hang on scrap that!

Saturday at Canberra was the biggest practice day I think TEKA had ever seen, especially for round 2.
Of the 29 kart field, the biggest ever for the yearly trek to the Nation’s Capital, 26 karts were there for “unofficial” practice. All finessing set ups and going for early quick time bragging rights, even though no one was admitting to anything.

Big Grids, Bang for Buck in Endurance Karting

Endurance Karters do it longer, and the numbers really do stack up.

There are two clubs that run their events under the Karting New South Wales banner, and both are enjoying healthy grid numbers and having outstanding success.

For both clubs, the Briggs & Stratton package is the engine of choice, and whilst there are slight technical differences between them, both clubs utilise pretty much the same power plant.
